Traveling Solo in Europe 2016

 

Since 2014 I have been traveling to Europe Solo... Just think two years earlier I was going threw a divorce, without much planning or thought I brought a ticket to Neatherlands. I was excited just as much as I was nervous, Only speaking English and never traveling that far alone I didn't know what to expect. I planned out a three-week adventure from Amsterdam to Paris, Florence to Milan and London. While travdeling solo, I spend a lot of time alone planning and thinking about what I want to do next in my life. At the same time I got a chance to see the most beautiful sight's, do some Designer shopping and meet new friends. Since then, I have no fears of traveling solo... After navigateing through 4 different Countries and using two different currencies I felt as if I could conquer the world. Traveling to Europe solo was the most liberating thing I have done for myself in a long time. I've conquered my fears. Each year I choose different countries to visit. My jump off point is always Amsterdam. It is very centrally located, English is spoken and has great vintage shopping. This year destination were Germany, Amsterdam and Greece and instead of traveling by train between Countries I flew. Highlights of my trip; Outlet Shopping in Germany

Day Tripping in Amsterdam

After landing in Dusseldorf Germany I deceied to take a day trip to Amsterdam. There's nothing like Day Tripping in my favorite destination. After 2 hours ride on the train, I was at my favorite Coffee Shop, enjoying Brewery tasting, shopping for vintage and enjoying a great meal. See you at my next destination. Euro Tripping......

On the Hunt for the perfect backpack

While traveling in Europe I was on the hunt for the perfect backpack. Being the label whore that I am, I decied to find a local designer. A few days before I was leaving Amsterdam I found a local designer at Waterlooplein Flea Market. His bags are handmade and they were gorgeous. I wanted one I could use for a weekend getaway or a bag for shopping.

I found it..... Once I picked the one I wanted, the designer greased it up and packed it up for travel back to the states.

 

Everyone knows I love to travel, I am always ready to hit the road.. This is what's in my Backpack:

Floppy hat, shades for the sun. Bathingsuit, shorts and cover up espadrilles, and a few accessories to jazz up your look...

Vintage shopping in Amsterdam

I love shopping but there is nothing like vintage shopping. While in Amserdam I found great Vintage Shop.

1953 Retro & Chic

Staalstraat 2, Amsterdam

Do not let the small size fool you, this small space is cramed with vintage gems. Once inside you’ll find yourself in a boudoir from a bygone era. This shop has many rare items, spanning the period from 1800's to 1980's. Dresses, skirts, shoes, hats, jackets, bags, elegant antiquities and even some men’s clothing downstairs. Prices range from inexpensive to more expensive, given that the owner gets some of these rare garments from London and Paris. This place is a must see.

I could not believe I found this rare Sun Visor from late 1940's to early 1940's in great condition. I was told that it was made by a famous Hat shop in Amerserdam. I fell in love first sight.. I did not know how.when or with what I was going to wear it with I just knew I had to have it.

I pair it with my vintage 1970's straw Handbag and Vegas Volt lipstick by Mac.

There is nothing like breathing new life back into a Rare Vintage find. Can't wait to see what I find next year....
